Description

Returns is an interactive long-form generative art project by Swiss artist Leander Herzog, minted on fxhash in 2021 across 500 editions. Each token is an offline-first interactive SVG where an algorithm subdivides the viewport into flat planes of color; new compositions are generated on click or over time, making every piece a perpetually self-regenerating artwork. Inspired by color-field masters like Anne Truitt, Ugo Rondinone, and Kazimir Malevich, Returns strips painting to its essence: pure form and color in constant, patient transformation. The project is a collector favorite and one of the defining early fxhash releases.
